Hello, I am preparing to take my last ACT this coming Saturday. The only issue is, there is no writing segment. The soonest I could take the writing segment is February. What do I need to do?

From my admissions counselor: "The writing section is not required for the Naval Academy application process, and is not viewed as part of your application."

I would think that the USNA will get plenty of chances to evaluate your writing via all the essays they require.

Discussions like this make me glad English is my first language. So much irregularity in spelling and pronunciation, exceptions to rules, exceptions to exceptions, words with different meanings depending on pronunciation, words with different meanings spelled differently but pronounced the same - I’d hate to learn it as a new language.

When they first came out the the writing sample of the ACT an admission counselor told me that it was only used to compare application essay submissions to actual timed writing on the ACT. It is not given the value you might think. If you can't spell antidisestablishmentarianism on the SAT like you did on your application you will have a problem.

MJ try Thai or others that a gender specific. Don't make a mistake. Big smiles and giggles.

I JUST said this exact same thing yesterday!
