Here are the facts of the situation:
- A variety of events caused me to lose focus in school (These were significant events that effected my entire family; homeless at one point, etc.)
- I was taken to a psychologist and prescribed concerta (aka methylphenidate) for attention problems
- I took this medication for one month, stopping as a result of no benefits from the medication
- I was given a letter of encouragement by west point (I have yet to take my CFA and I will be increasing my Test Scores significantly)
- Both my psychologist and doctor have offered to provide statements indicating that I was INCORRECTLY diagnosed with an attention problem
- I indicated I DO NOT have ADD/ADHD on my candidate questioner
- I have not been on the medication for around 8 months now
- I will be taking an SAT soon and have reason to believe I can attain a score of 1570+
- What is my best course of action?
- Have I committed an error, by indicating I do not have ADHD? (Which I do not; and I can perform at a high level without any sort of medication, as evidence by my standardized test scores)
- Should I discuss this matter with my field force representative?
- Can this situation be resolved to avoid disqualification via DoDMERB?
