I just wanted to list what I know and if any of the experienced members can help me fix my understanding that would be great.
Spots/vacancies at the academy:
600 for MOC
100 presidential
20 ROTC
15 for S/D Disabled/Deceased Vets
25 for Supt
85 Active duty
85 Guard/Reserve
150 qualified alternates(are these alternates from the NWL? Does USAFA have an NWL?)
Is it true that the academy must select 150 candidates by WCS and then up to "X" additional to make up the class of the academy?
Are all candidates with 3Q and nomination on the NWL, then the academy fills slates taking names of the NWL?
Thank you

Yes

Don't know if that's what they actually do but it definitely works as a model. You won't be able to tell the difference between this model and what they actually do (if there is a difference).

These are the clearest explanations I've found so far from @USMA 1994

@Worriedparent2 You will drive yourself crazy by obsessing about all of this. I know it's hard to trust in the process at times, but we have to believe that everything will happen as it should. (I'm saying this as much for me as I'm saying it to you. ;))
