Recently, DS learned that USAFA admissions will be reviewing applications late Feb/early March. Does USMA admissions have a similar date for regular admits? (Im assuming regular admits means non-recruited).

DS is on pins and needles answering every spam call. Lol. The usafa info was very helpful!

The pattern for USMA looks like they are meeting on Tuesdays. The appointed seem to get calls from MOCS Wednesday and Thursday. Some don't get a call, but either way their portal updates Thursday night/Friday morning. This is all based on what I have gathered from these forums, so take that for what it's worth. lol

Most SAs will start reviewing/appointing the bulk of the class during that time. I’ve read some could be until or after May 1st.

I guess something was in the air when I posted this question this morning.

Our Congressman called DS this afternoon and conferenced DH and I in on the call. DS has an appointment to USMA! An incredible honor!!!
Once your son selects USMA, you should join the West Point Moms page and order the 'West Point Moms Survival Guide' by Joiner and Roszel on Amazon. Congratulations to your cadet candidate. However, do not do any of that until he makes a decision.

What happens next? DS received LOA in August, 3Q letter a couple of months later. He received nomination in early January and it showed up in portal about a week later. Since then ... crickets! We are seeing lots of appointment announcements, but not a word. Is there a rough timelime that we should expect?

As long as he has fulfilled the conditions laid out in the LOA, his appointment is assured. He can expect to be notified anytime between now and mid-April...perhaps sooner because of the LOA. Remember, the military's unofficial motto is "Hurry up and wait."

The admission committee meets every Wednesday to review complete files.

Sounds like all that's left to do is sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. Congratulations on your son's achievement and more so, his desire to serve his country. In all seriousness, not much to do but you can reach out to field force for an update if you'd like peace of mind.
