Big Nick,
Based on your training and/or experience can you say what percentage of 3Q candidates fall into the admissible category and the competitive category? Thanks!
100%.
3Q'd is a higher status than admissible or competitive.
3Q'd means that you have been determined by those in Admissions at West Point to have met the admissions criteria academically, medically and physically.
Add a nomination and you meet the legal requirement to receive an appointment.
So ALL 3Q'd candidates are admissible.
Not all admissible or competitive candidates are or will be 3Q'd.
Hope that makes sense.
If you are asking how many admissible and competitive candidates will be 3Q'd, that is hard to say. You can be 'Admissible' and not receive a nom and therefore will not receive an appointment, no matter how 'Admissible' you are.
I think everyone is getting too hung up on the 'admissible' and 'competitive' terms. As someone mentioned, these are terms indicating candidate potential.
There is a 3rd candidate potential category - 'risk'. A risk candidate can earn an appointment if their file improves. It's just that at the initial evaluation, they met the 'risk' criteria.
I understand that as candidates that you want to cling on to anything that seems to indicate that you have a good chance for an appointment.
Don't get over confident if you are 'Admissible'
Don't get discouraged if you are 'Competitive'.
Everyone needs to keep updating their files until the deadline.
