AF ROTC Enrollment Allocation Results

If it makes anyone feel better, our colonel sent us the same email (91% overall, 2243 selected). Maybe the 1500 was something that was floating around, but were were told that the information came straight from Air Staff

This makes sense, I couldn't imagine your cadre just pulling those numbers out of thin air - did your cadre also say we will be finding out tomorrow?

And that results are coming out sometime between today and the start of Max 1..

I laughed at your post :yllol:

We're really narrowing down.. I'm pretty sure we'll be finding out this week
The 91% is really reassuring but I'm not believing anything until it happens :thumb:

Been following this topic since page 1. We weren't told any of the #'s/statistics but we're keeping our fingers crossed. Anyway, my det is finding out tomorrow morning starting at 0900. I have my counseling first o_O

Cheers.

Regarding the 1500 number or 91% have any of you thought about it could be both?

For example, the 91% might be that one posters det., and not the national avg.

Some dets have a higher rate than others. VT quickly comes to mind. When Nick4060 went in 10, I believe he said they had an 80% rate. The nat. avg was 55%

Hence you may see a det with a higher rate, but the overall number can be lower. In the beginning of this thread a poster stated it was due to accession issues, which is not necessarily a sequester issue.

If that was indeed the case, I could def. see the delay, and I could see that they may still send 2200 cadets. There were a lot of check points that they had to go through up and back down the chain. If they had to run the numbers for FY15 with manpower, that would take time for them to crunch the numbers.

If you think about it, it would be probably hard for them to make their numbers for 15 if they did cut it down to 1600. They can't bank on that many of qualified OCS applicants 2 yrs out.

It would also have a bigger issue later on if they didn't get enough applicants when it comes to promotions.

People tend to forget the AF plans 5 yrs out at least.

Off topic, but on topic.

Hadha,
1 200? If I am doing the math, that is a very small det. How many in total? 25?

Yep, hopefully we will get word from my cadre at around 3 today when one of my fellow 200s has to go to the det for something.

Now that to me is interesting. Typically, they are given an official release time and date. This site will light up like a xmas tree if I am assuming correctly you are at Drexel University.

My question would be this: Are all 200's attending this meeting? If so, it is highly unlikely they are releasing the results because if you go with the 91%, at least 1 will probably get bad news. It may be that this meeting is their way to inform why it was delayed, what to expect, and come tomorrow they will have the results.

Okay. I'm here to give official news. No bull****. The mentioned 91.5% rate is true. The mentioned 2243 slots is true. The mentioned additional slots at the end of the semester is true (I was told... "if you don't get an EA tomorrow, don't make any big decisions just yet, because I was told more slots can open up later on"). My Cadre told us specifically these things.

AFROTC said info should be to commanders tomorrow morning. Look for phone calls and visit your det then.

The cuts has always been a rumor and is now proven false.

And for the record I was at NATCON. Col Dunn only ever mentioned that anything was on the line. It was up to higher ups. He never even said there actually would be cuts.

I'm just gonna cave... I believe it all... haha. That's awesome

I mentioned the numbers I read this morning from you guys and my Det Commander was like... How do you know that? You have hit those numbers on the head.

This was after he told us the slots information.

Am I the only one that has people wondering where I'm getting all of this info? Lol. I'm just like "the internet".

Sorry I should have clarified, he is going in for something unrelated to EAs and he was going to ask our Captain about what we've been hearing on this board lol

LMAO cralor

Back in the early yrs of our marriage, I was the OCSC President. They had their weekly Friday meeting in the squadron. Somehow something came up, and Bullet responded to the Commander:

According to my wife and OCSCIA they all knew we are doing this last week!

I am shocked that an O6 asked how you knew...scuttlebutt always could ferret out rumors and reality.

And as usual, our Cadre haven't heard anything either - per my friend who was just in their and talked to our Captain. Why isn't information distributed out to every det and not just a few? Lol

Depends on the info coming down from the chain. AFROTC HQ > Region Commanders > Det Commanders.

My OFC (aka old "CoC") doesn't handle this kinda stuff, we work with our Det Commander directly.

Drexel,

I would not assume that they don't know anything (cadre). I would assume they are following orders.

The list cannot be released before X date at X time.

In yrs to come when you are a FC or and ADO your perspective will change.

They probably know every name, but HQ AFROTC has stated release date and time. They are officers first. Let's be honest this site is in a tizzy because some posters cadre gave a hint.

Look 91% is high. If you are above a 3.0, 95 PFT, and at least a 1200 SAT your butt is probably going. 50% of the score is CoC ranking.

I have supported all of you with the venting. I get the fear. I am just saying, don't compare what posters at other dets are saying. Trust your det. They care about you!

hadha,

I have to ask this question. What drew you to a det that is 17 cadets?

Again, I have to ask how is it that they are not combining with other dets.

I could play the anonymous game, but I won't. DS's det last yr (330) won the best large det in the nation. They had cadets traveling 2 hrs.

I am just curious, how your det with 17 cadets hasn't been reorganized into a xtown det. I can only think that there are no dets near your college.
