Also, if you are applying for the AFA, you should notify your ALO. Our DS didn't go to an AFROTC det for an interview, his ALO just re-submitted his AFA rec to AFROTC.
The only thing I have heard that will be different this yr from yrs passed is the delay of the DoDMERB physical. It use to be given much earlier, but due to costs they are delaying it to make sure that the applicant is competitive.
The problem for some with this scenario is that getting waivers are not 1,2,3 done. It can take weeks, and sometimes months depending on how far down the process you have to go to get the final answer. So if you have any medical issues it is best to use this time to get in front of it now by gathering all medical documentation. Your doc may say you are in fine health, except for your allergies, but unless he is looking at the DoDMERB guidelines, he will not be really able to give you a definitive answer.
The big ones you usually see are food allergies, eye issues, hearing issues, and certain types of medications. Medications are a big deal, because remember how the military looks at it. They want an officer that they can place in a war time environment and if you must have that medication, and you are in a remote area it can be an issue for their goal to be a fighting force.
