AFROTC Board Results

Did they give any guidance on the next step whether that needs to be an end user (our DDs and DSs) to use a different web browser or reboot? I know she has at least rebooted (first step W/all server issues). Or will the detachment at her school of choice be able to supply clarity on her status when she contacts them. She received the same federal forms as she did for her NROTC scholarship in the portal but not the “offered” tab on main page. It seems there are a few of us in this situation that are standing with a heavy bag of uncertainty.
who can we call? Did your child get a scholarship?

Can you post the link for the domerb. When we try to log on it does not work.

my son was not offered a scholarship. Surprised, 31 ACT, 11th in his class, active in sports, captain of 2 sports teams. Technical major, I do not know what they were looking for. Perhaps he will get one in college.

My son had a 1560 SAT. Near perfect 98.6 GPA without a single B his entire high school career. Most competitive public engineering HS in the country. Multivariable calculus, AP courses, etc. 2 sport varsity athlete and started classes to teach young kids about space at the local library. Volunteer at a museum. Working on a patent for a school project that turned out to be well received by the teaching staff. Engineering major and did NOT get offered a AF scholarship either this year. I am speechless.

Wow! Unbelievable. I am sorry he was not selected for AFROTC scholarship. I am just curious, with numbers like those what are is his plan B? He is going to do great wherever he ends up!

For those still trying to decide on which school gives additional scholarships when using the AFROTC. DS just got an email from Syracuse , if he used his type 7 they would basically cover the rest to include room and board (totalling 62,000 a year) I'm sure you're all getting the same emails as the Det send offers to those on the list. As for my DS.... we lived in Fort Drum and he has vowed never to ever return to the great north tundra lol. He'll be taking his down south!

Yup -- DS received the same email! Pretty lucrative/attractive offer, especially seeing that they'd cover the $18K for the first year of a converted type 2. Syracuse is very military friendly, as I know many DoD personnel that obtained their master's there on the DoD.

Syracuse is a great school. Very exciting place to study.

DS was offered a 4-year Type 7 scholarship! Convertable to 3-year type 2 scholarship for private or out of state public if desired. So excited!!
Congratulations. Just wanted to point out that the type 7 can be used at any state school in the country that will agree to give the cadet there in-state rate. It would still be a 4 yr scholarship.

That's hard to fathom. Where's he going to college?

Can you share where to find details on this? I’ve talked to some out of state schools that offer levels of assurance to offset 3 year type 2 conversion but they haven’t said anything about a full type 7 for out of state. Thank you for additional info!

I don’t know of any resource that consolidates all the various offers. I can tell you that the university of West Virginia offered this and free room OR board. I would check the website of or call the detachments your interested in to find out for sure.

FWIW, there is a ROTC Consulting service out there. I have no affiliation with them, nor did we use them, so not sure how good they are. However, they claim there are 2 criteria that are most important in getting selected for a NROTC 4-year scholarship: 1) Pick a Tier 1 or Tier 2 major -AND- 2) Get a 700 (or better) math score on the SAT. You can see more here: https://rotcconsulting.com/chances-of-winning-rotc-scholarship/

My DS portal still says no decision made. I see what you said about the SAT score. DS scored a 33 on his math ACT which says equates to 740 on SAT. Do they look at ACT math scores too or just SAT?

They look at whatever standardized testing you have whether it be ACT or SAT. I am not sure if they use SAT as a base and convert ACT scores to the SAT equivalent, but they do not care which one you take.
