AFROTC EA due date

According to Pima ( I think it was Pima) the last 7 years EA's came out on a Thursday

Last year EAs came out on April 11th.

Guys, it's been 4 weeks since we were supposed to know, ROTC ends next week! No other class has had to wait this long. At this point I'm feeling like they're never coming out, at least, not while school is in session . I get "hurry up and wait" and all that, but this is getting ridiculous. No one can accept their internships because they don't know which max they might have, those who need them can't sign up for summer classes either since they don't know if they can do short or late summer, for us bag drag is postponed until EAs come out so everything will be gotten on short notice, which might not be so bad except name tapes have to be done yourself along with any other alterations. We have no information other than "no, they didn't come out today" from cadre.

I'm thinking the info about having EAs but waiting til the end of the week to release them is bogus. There is no time left. One week, and then finals, and they can't do bag drag finals week unless they decide to meet each cadet individually to go over the list. Don't even have time to break in the boots we'll get when EAs eventually come out, hello blisters. Cadre's getting a little restless too, imagine the paper storm that's about to rain down on them, they don't want to wait any longer either.

I have a friend whose mom works with the Navy Budget and had a chance to see what's the deal with the Air Force's budget. All I want to say is that we will be waiting for a while. Hate to say it but yeah the general notion for everyone is that this week might be the week but the upper management can drag us until two weeks before MAX 1 without any serious repercussions. It sucks but considering that the draw down manpower goal is still an ever changing number it explains why we are waiting for so long. As I said before do plan B now. If you got an offer for an internship accept it. If you can an EA anyway you basically have a job secured and can cancel that internship (I still support having internship experiences anyways). Apply for summer classes if you have to. In my university you have two weeks from the day you register classes to pay so there would be some leeway to cancel it. Apply for summer jobs. Do whatever you need to do to secure a future as if you will NOT become an officer in the Air Force. It is way easier to throw away your plan B to do plan A than to start plan B after your plan A fails because most likely you will start your plan B mid May if you fail to do it now.

I know you are not supposed to shoot the messenger....

But right now Alpha you are really close to the top of my sh** list....

Hopefully just because they CAN postpone announcement another 2-3 weeks doesn't mean that they will.

Thank you for willingness to share the source of your information....even if it wasn't a specific name.

No EA's for us today yet. My LT did say that he "heard" there were 1600 slots this year. I am not sure if he was speculating or this has been posted before, but I would think the number sounds pretty accurate to me.

Did not want to distribute any information I thought was told in confidence but I did want to give the overall gist of what he said. I believe additional information would come when Colonel Wydra is bombarded by FTPs asking the same question at NATCON. I hope that it doesn't have to go to the depths of Charlie Foxtrot but I just wanted to inform what the worst case possible might be.

First time that I heard a number.....but that sounds like it would be about right.....since they took away Max 6 my calculations would have had about 1850 the maximum number of EA's to expect.

1600 while low sounds like a realistic number....I wonder how many rated vs non rated....

I wonder if it is possible for EA's to be given out this year ONLY for Rated or Tech....and none to non tech non rated...???...???...

official word from cadre today is that EAs will not be released in the next 2 weeks. so I guess we can't expect anything until May 1st.

That seems like a pretty bold statement for one det to make. Has anyone else heard from their Cadre?

I agree.

My LT did not say anything about how it will be divided but he did emphasize that non-techs would be hit the hardest, but we already knew that from before the packages went out.

EAs

See, beginning of last week our cadre told us to expect EAs by the end of the week. Then we heard nothing all week of course.
Then this week, they said the same thing. But today they told us in AS class that we should keep our phones by our side and expect a phone call any minute. But who knows. I just hate this waiting!

An email just came out from our Colonel saying 95% chance EA's will be out Monday 4/21. He has received word directly from HQ.
