Is the interviewer assigned to the applicant or does the applicant have some choice in who performs the interview. Mostly curious if it is advantageous to interview with the PMS at your first choice school.

I think it depends on the region you are in. We are in Northeast Ohio and were not given a choice regarding the interview date, place or time. Our son interviewed with the det that was closest to our home which was not located at school he was interested in attending. In talking with different detachments located throughout several states it seems like each region has it's own guidelines.

We are in Kentucky. The interview is assigned to the closest detachment to the AFROTC applicant independent of what school the applicant is applying for. This was University of Louisville for us. DS had the same interviewer for both USAFA and AFROTC. His ALO just did one interview and submitted the paperwork for both applications.

Same with our DS yrs ago. ALO did both AFA and AFROTC. However, I know AFROTC has regionals, thus your DS may interview with them, even though they are not connected to the college...i.e. dlaheta's scenario.

They will contact you once they deem you as a competitive applicant.

You submit, and they decide. You can't make an appointment for an interview if they don't request it when it comes to scholarships. They determine who and when it will occur.
