AFROTC Scholarship for current college student

Does the Air Force award scholarships for students already in college?
On the ROTC website I only see information for scholarships for current high school students.
Does anyone have experience receiving a scholarship as a college freshman or older?
 
The college scholarship is called an ICSP (In College Scholarship Program). It is tied to the det., follow Aulysses's advice and talk to your cadre. The scholarships do occur, but you need to be competitive.
What does that mean?
It means a strong cgpa. A 2.8 even as a STEM major is probably not going to cut it since the avg cgpa for SFT aka LEAD is 3.1 for STEM
It means a high PFT score. Think 95-97+. Running a 7:30 mile is in the boundary, but close to the max for a male. Running a 6:45 mile will look better
It means volunteering for everything within the det. If that means volunteering to clean up the det lounge on a Sat. morning at 8 a.m., you will be there.

Typically only less than 20% of all freshmen will enter with an AFROTC scholarship. Hence, why I say you need to be competitive because you now will be competing everyone else for that ICSP. ICSPs are tied to the det. They have a very limited amount of money to hand out. Yes, it does happen, but it is not a given.
 
I went to my son's Air Force Rotc dinner. They handed out awards at the end of the night as well as some scholarships. It was very cool, about 10 people received $8500 scholarships. Its less than one semester of out of state tutition so its not a huge amount, but its stil nice. They were all surprised by it. I dont thing these are the normal ICSP scholarships that have been mentioned above, and while I dont know for certain, I would assume these winners dont have the normal scholarships

You are correct, those are not part of the ICSP. Sometimes different groups go through AFROTC to give scholarships (In reality, a simple check) to cadets who performed well in different areas. The actual ICSP that goes through the Air Force usually hands out 3 year Type II (Up to $18k a year) or full on Type I (100% tuition) scholarships. These can either be given out when detachments send the packets of qualified cadets to compete on the national level, or through the Commander In-College Scholarship Program, where the Detachment Commander is able to give out a small amount of these same scholarships to high performing cadets.
