I was just curious if anyone had any rough estimates for EA selection this year based off of anything they have heard or read. I have heard that they are going to select more non techs this but I dont know if this is true. Also any idea if the selection rate is going to be higher this year than last year or just less harsh in general like due to it being so low last year? Also just to share what my detachment commander said, he said that the packets are getting sent in in February, the board will meet in March and results released in April.

Thank you for sharing what your detachment commander said. My daughter is a 200 majoring in a Tech field. At this point they haven't been told much about the upcoming selections. I know we're all anxious to hear any news. Best of luck to you.

It has been very quiet this year which probably means a good sign for selection rates. Last year before winter break many posters and cadets were told they were not going to be supported, allowing them to be able to disenroll. I also believe they made them sign the rated paperwork before being boarded.

All you can do is wait. Good luck.

I was told that the board will be similar to last year. But another thing I have noticed is the low amount of kids applying. Last year my Det had 44 go up, this year, before FTP, there's only 40.

I wonder how other Dets are at with applicants.

This year we have 29 going up for selection. 8 of the 11 at our wing have a great chance.

Jmpo, but I think posters that started this process (AFROTC scholarship) 3 years ago as a senior did not understand 55% was always the norm for SFT/EA selection for eons. When I say eons, I mean years and years.

There were only two years that 90%+ was the norm.

That being said I believe the AF cut too hard for last year. 1600 + 800/900 out of USAFA is an insanely small year group.
~ I get they are downsizing, but that is a huge cut.

I always say the AF is bulimic. They gorge and purge. I am hoping for all of you that it is a good year.

I will also say, that I don't think the AF is going to walk away from the tech aspect. Just like last year they wanted rated. You can easily take a rated member and throw them in a non rated job, not true for taking non rated and throwing them into rated.

Just my 0.0198642 cents and with that plus $2.06 you can a small cup of coffee from Starbucks. Take it or toss it in the garbage can, either way what you need to understand is the AF is looking at their manpower needs for 2022. That is when most of you at the earliest can leave.

My det has a lot more this year. Last year only 6 of us went to FT (11 went up for it). This year there are 20 (including 2 500's that didn't get to go last year). I heard the numbers will be similar this year due to the amount of maxes.

my detachment has less this year, I believe last year we had around 20 go up for it, 16ish went to field training. This year we only have 15 competing.

Honestly, blueandgold I highly doubt it!
7 years on this site I have yet to see one detachment with 100%. That includes SMCs.

I have seen 100% selection for rated.

My DS was notified Friday that he was selected to be a CTA at Field Training this year, he is really looking forward to it.
