Hi there,

I was just wondering if anyone here has gone from the AFROTC program to the AROTC program. I'm currently an AFROTC cadet interested in the Air Force's Office of Special Investigations program, but have been thinking about doing AROTC due to some bumps in the road in my AFROTC career. Thank you in advanced

Enlighten on what the bumps are because they can make the difference.

What year are you and are you contracted?
If you are already contracted it would depend if the AF lets you out or not.

I did hear of an NROTC student who lost the scholarship for academic reasons. Was looking at having to pay back the money as the Navy would not allow him to enlist.
The Navy did agree to allow him to serve his time in the Army Reserves, join AROTC and stay in school.

I don't think anyone here can give you good advice on your case - you are going to have to go through your chain of command.

I'm completing my first year, not contracted. I was going to contract next fall, but was notified of a medical disqualification due to cashew nuts.:frown:

Is the Army going to waive your DQ, though? Talk to the AROTC guys first, they can check to see if you could qualify for a waiver before you enter the program.

I'm going through the same thing. I got DQ'd for my eyes by AFROTC but I went and checked it out with AROTC and they're waiving me.

well then - it should not be a problem unless you can't get medically qualfied by AROTC.
Just drop out of AFROTC and talk to the folks at AROTC.
You also should have a chat with Mr Mullen on the Dodmerb forum.
Good Luck!
