Hello,

Would the Air Force Academy consider my service as "work." I do get paid. However, I cut grass and wash cars for people in the neighborhood when needed.

I also led booths at trade show etc. However that was more of Volunteer work.

Do you pay taxes on it? Claim the income on your return? If not, the answer is no. You're reaching. They look for kids that balance school, work, sports, church, volunteering etc.

My opinion is that it sounds like what you do (when needed... do they need it? Or do you need a little cash?) virtually every applicant does... in addition to their other obligations.
