I was recently awarded a 4-year Army ROTC scholarship and began completing the medical history survey for it. I admitted to have tried alcohol when I was younger. I specified I had a few sips of beer under parental supervision years ago and have not had or abused alcohol since, nor do I ever intend to. Is this a DQ?

Thank you that alleviates a lot of stress. I was underage but we were also on vacation in the Cayman Islands, which allows underage drinking if you're accompanied by an adult. What does it look like on my medical evaluation to have a "yes" on alcohol use? Will it be any kind of negative mark or will it not matter later down the line?

Alcohol use is not an issue. Alcohol abuse is.
