I'm currently applying for class of 2026 and I got a late start to the process because I didn't know this is what I wanted to do so I'm very behind, but can still make it. Am I able to do my test after the deadline (Dec 31 2021)?

From the Candidate Booklet on page 14: "You must take your CFA by the deadline to complete your file, so plan accordingly."

Complete it over Christmas break and you will be fine.

It is part of the application process, so, unless USAFA published guidance says otherwise, it would be included in the list of things required to have a complete application.

You should just submit as per deadline. DS got a warning that his file will be closed due to CFA. Submit ur best test that's within the deadline but continue to train in the same order of events as the CFA. If they accept your submitted scores, that's one less checkmark to turn green. If scores are too low, you'd probably get another chance at a later date. Regardless, continue to train.

DS already passed but he's still training CFA-like to stay fit.

We bought a pullup bar for DS, new basketball and long tape measure for the bball throw. The other exercises you can practice without extra equipment. DS followed the advice in this forum wrt CFA, and they were really helpful to him.

You need someone to help u measure ur progress by giving you a mock "CFA test" regularly prior to actual test, to see where you need to improve the most.

Here's the ALO answer.

Your application file will be closed one minute after midnight on the "due by date." Closed, locked, and then burned; never to be reopened.

The book is clear: CFA must be accomplished prior to the deadline. The online items NOT held to that standard are those which the candidate has no control over: the DODMERB exam and the ALO Evaluation.

Just wanted to provide a quick correction as it could cause a potential issue for anyone who waits last minute. In the USAFA portal it is stated in bright red, “Caution: All deadlines are based on 1600 MST. (Ex. If your deadline is 1 Dec 2021. Your application will close at 1600 MST on 1 Dec 2021)”.

Excellent catch!!

In the past...well...I've been around a LONG time.

If that's what it says, USE THAT!!!

Strange. There was an email to candidates a month or two ago that said CFA were allowed to submitted up to 2 weeks after the deadline. I'd go by the packet just to be safe though

Who was the email from?

I've also heard "whispers" from some of my candidates but not one has shared this...

I can confirm that I submitted my CFA within two weeks after my deadline of Nov 30 and it was accepted with a green check mark.

DS also got said email wrt 2 weeks after deadline. However, day after the deadline he got a warning email that his file will be closed for non-submission of CFA. So he forwarded the other email to clear it up. Then the person said to follow what that email said. He submitted the CFA 3 days before the 2 week deadline and got a green checkmark.

If you didn't get any other instruction (by email etc), follow the deadline given to you and the Instructions to 2026 Candidates, just to be safe.
