Yes, you can transfer into any SA until you hit the age limit. So you have a few years to try. Best wishes to you.

Aim to be academically inclined. West Point and Annapolis are looking to see if you are a well-rounded candidate. If you have the spirit and motivation to serve the United States as an officer at the top of their craft, I believe that you will be able to be more than well-rounded. Always strive to gain a proper advantage in your academics as of means to raise your class rank, as class rank matters way more to these institutions than a GPA (shows that you are competitive). Don't let the idea that there are competitors who are tremendous in terms of their own stats. I have faced that same situation and all it did was bring me down. Don't let others bring you down with their craft. Focus on building your's up. That is what the armed services are looking for in officers.

I wish you the best of luck in applying to West Point and the Naval Academy. Always use your fighting spirit and humbleness to show these institutions that you are more than just competitive, but that you are also dedicated in service rather than reputation.

You didn't say, but if you are a junior, don't forget to consider ROTC as plan "B". Visit a couple of colleges you want to attend and speak with the ROTC PMS or ROO and see what they are about, and what a scholarship to that school covers. ROTC does not require a MOC Nomination, so you don't have to sweat that part. By all means apply to both SA's and if you can, get your MOC NOM set up. If you get a NOM and the SA considers that you may need their prep school they will send you there if your other qualifications are good, so work on that possibility if you don't get an appointment right off. If the SA sends you to their prep school and you do well you are pretty sure to get an appointment the next year. If you are serious about the SA's, try and visit over the summer and meet and talk to admissions, some of your professors, your Regional Commander and Blue Gold Officer, and any students on campus.

With your fringe academic qualifications, and previously admitted marijuana use I think you should really look in a different direction. Good Luck you.

try to get recruited as your GPA and ACT scores are not as competitive. Go to a civilian college and apply later for the academies.
