Amazing Military Academy MOC Nomination Data

flieger83,

Thanks for your analysis!

Here is another link. The source of this PDF appears to be the AP (Associated Press) and it was originally an Excel file called: "MOC Academy Nominations With year low breakout 30 May.xls"

Author was "ghenderson" it was turned into a PDF on 7/22/2008, almost 8 years ago.

The document was created with a few security restrictions. It can't be turned back into an Excel to allow one to sort thru the data.

The lack of being able to just get the numbers like this from anywhere, really bugs me. (This looks as if it was complied from a FOIA filing?)

Hi everyone. I know this is an older thread, but It was interesting to me. I live in the NY 16 district and it seems only 1 or 0 people applied to the USMA per year. Do you think that this would help my chances at getting into the USMA? If i were to be the only one who applied, does that mean I would automatically be slotted for the nomination given I was the only one who applied for a nomination that year?

It would absolutely help your chances. It would not be automatic. All the service academies try to admit at least one candidate from every MOC. If a MOC has a slate of 1 and they are qualified they would have an excellent chance of being admitted. Also, just because you are the only one that applied it does not mean you will be automatically given your MOC nomination, but again if you are qualified that would be highly unlikely.

You still must meet all minimal qualifications, academic, physical, medical...
