In the the fall I will be an MSII and my 3-year Army ROTC scholarship will kick-in. I was wondering if a cadet is already on ROTC scholarship, are there any additional, or purpose, of enlisting in the NG at the same time? I haven't talked to my cadre as I only thought of it in the last few days.
Any additional benefits from NG?

The only way you can enlist in the NG while on scholarship is if you convert your scholarship to a GRFD scholarship. If you do that, you will not have the option of going active duty when you graduate. On the flip side, if you do convert to GRFD you will have to join the guard or reserves, and will start to receive drill pay, along with your stipend. You need to talk to your cadre, who hopefully will ask you numerous times if your sure you don't want active duty if you plan to join the guard/reserves.
