DS received an appointment to USNA. He never received any nominations to USAFA (although he has applied for VP nom). AF is all complete, no nom. Is there any reason to actually WITHDRAW AF application? Or just leave it as is, eventually receiving a TWE?

Curious.....

Leave it as is. VP could still come through if USAFA is his first choice. If it doesn't they'll send a TWE. No harm. No foul.

EDIT: Even if there were some reason that made sense to withdraw it, it's so late in the process that he'll get the TWE before they could take action on it.

Don't withdraw if still interested in AF. He could still receive a Falcon Foundation Scholarship offer.

Beware of outliers - extremely unlikely events that, if they do occur, could dramatically affect your situation.

Ask two questions:
  1. Is there any benefit to withdrawing application? Answer: No
  2. Is there any possible downside to withdrawing application? Answer: Very little, but not nonexistent. Only if an outlier were to occur - receive VP Nom and appointment to USAFA and for some reason unable to attend USNA.
