Wife and I are headed out to the game since we missed our last parents weekend and wondering if others are making the trip. Also, looking for 2 cheap or (free lol) tickets.

DH, DD and I are going, but just planning to hit tailgates so that DD can "return" letters that the now Firsties wrote to themselves when they were Doolies in her squadron.

It’s funny how Navy got whooped in the game today! Who got the CIC now? We did. 🥰😂
Uh...they weren't whooped by any stretch of the imagination. It should have been something like 31-10 or so but AF kept offering navy opportunities.

So...the CinC Trophy...it's still in NY if I recall correctly...we need to take out army and THEN it's ours.

So being on probation for cheating does not negate being in contention for the CIC?

This is lucky for one of the big 3 SAs. :)
Uh, no. The CinC trophy has nothing to do with the NCAA.

As to your statement about "cheating..." did you read the joint statement by the USAFA and NCAA? The NCAA did not accuse USAFA of cheating; far from it. USAFA reported themselves for possibly violating NCAA rules during the COVID recruiting restrictions. That doesn't sound like it rises to the definition of "cheating." They reported that some of their coaching assistants, in USAFA's view, might have violated NCAA rules. They made a mistake.

From the statement published in one of the Colorado Springs media outlets:
*************************************************************************************************************************************************
The sanctions come after the football program self-reported recruiting violations, that occurred during a 2020 COVID-19 dead period, by five coaching assistants.

It is believed that at least four of the assistants involved are no longer with the Air Force program.

"The U.S. Air Force Academy is pleased that our self-reported case has progressed to the point of the NCAA accepting our negotiated resolution,” the academy said in a statement. “We will continue working with the NCAA on this ongoing self-reported case from the COVID dead period, as it’s our responsibility to ensure the integrity of the institution, athletics department, cadet-athletes, and staff. We are working cooperatively with the NCAA Enforcement staff and Committee on Infractions to bring the matter to completion. Per NCAA rules and procedures, Air Force is unable to comment on any aspect of the ongoing case until it is fully resolved.”

Let's not use words that taint the cadets by their very connotation. Cheating, one of the "big three" areas of the honor code, is always a national news item when it occurs at one of the SAs. This had nothing to do with the cadets. This has to do with a mistake made by either four or five football assistants (the fifth is contesting it).
