Anyone still waiting to hear?

You don't know if you are on the NWL I don't believe. I'm not sure how they list where these kids are slated if one of the 150 picked. It cannot be to the congressman. It's all confusing to me. But what I've read is all kids with noms go on the NWL if they didnt win the slate. At this late point in the game you would assume all slates are selected, so just waiting on them to pick the top 150.

Somewhere I read that admissions was tasked with having at least 50% come in completely medical qualified as pilots. My DS would need a waiver for "asthma" which he doesn't really have in the sense that he has ever had an asthma attack or used a nebulizer, a couple of times he's had a bad upper respiratory infection and a symptom has been that he wheezed so he was prescribed an inhaler, now he's DQ'd. But he also needs lasix to fix his vision, which eye doc says he's an excellent candidate for correcting to 20/20. DS was flown by the USAFA on an official visit called the Falcon Visitation Experience. He was one of only 125 kids in the nation selected to attend. Yet here we sit, waiting and at this point today, not at all hopeful, personally. And I blame the DQ and his eyes.

.... Yes God, I hear you Sir, I understand my son will be where You want him. It is completely out of our control and I must accept that.
Sorry Tucker2023 I hear your stress. That Dodmerb process is quite nebulous , my DS passed but had severe asthma when he was very young (ages 4-8) , totally thought he would be DQ’d when he took his physical but passed without waiver need so I don’t always understand how some kids pass and some don’t . My DS was awarded a $20.000 scholarship through AFJROTC to go to college over the summer and get his PPL through a diversity program to get more pilots in the air , but still , here we wait ! He is also a reapplicant and self prep finishing up his freshman college year with a 4.0. What I have learned is ....I stopped stressing about a month ago ! Haha have come to the point of what will be will be. We don’t know why certain kids get picked over others , it’s pretty much a crap shoot applying for these service academies . If your DS really wants to become an officer in the AF, plenty of other avenues exist out there . Air Force Academy is a shiny object , but not the be all end all to pursuing a commission in the Air Force . Good luck to your DS !

@FireflyMom There are some conditions, like asthma I believe, where they don't care unless you had it from the age of 12 on.

I know it’s just so funny how they pick and choose . He also had mild eczema as a child and that didn’t raise red flags but I have read other kids who had similar histories who were DQ’s and had to either get a waiver , and some were denied ! It’s all very inconsistent .
