APFT badge in Beast?

Can new cadets earn the Physical Fitness badge during Beast? If so does the initial test count or only the end of BCT test?

My intel network says DS crushed it this week . . .

The initial APFT is more diagnostic. The real deal is at the end of beast.

I haven't heard of an APFT badge...just an IOCT tab.

Its just a patch worn on gym unis; not for dress unis. More bragging rights and unit pride in the company competition category.
But small wins count a lot at this stage plus keeps cadre off his back a bit. Sure beats being below the standard . . .

I've never seen a WP cadet wear the APFB on his/her PT uniform. In my time in the Army, those who earned it rarely wore it.

It was like having a large target on your back (chest) for graders who liked dinging you on your push-ups.

Congrats to your son - it sounds like he is off to a good start. Many cadets get the badge but not too may place on shorts.
