Long story short, I applied really late (I didn't start the online part until like jan 29th) but I managed to get everything in on time. I'm worried though because I sped-ran my essays and didn't really look closely for grammar mistakes and I am just now realizing I have a TON. My stats are decent I think, but I am worried that my essays will be my downfall. I got my interview in for the Feb. 20-23 board, and my NROTC portal says "The NSTC Selection/Placement Office has received your application. Missing Items All required items have been processed. Selection Status No decision has been made on your application.", will I hear back later this week?

More than likely you will not get in front of a board until later this month or the April board.

When you say you had a ton of mistakes.....is that 3, 5, 20......or?

How did your interview go?

If your package appears that you hurried it along, that may not bode well for you.

Getting your interview done does not mean the detachment is able to submit the evaluation on time. This happened to my DS who applied for AFROTC. He got his interview done during the 2nd week January two years ago. He also applied for Space Force at the same time. SF had a board review towards the end of January that year and we thought his application would make it to the board review. But he did not. What we learned is that SF board did not receive the evaluation so he was not considered. He made it to the AFROTC board in March and got accepted. He is now in his second year with AFROTC and loves it.

I am not sure if this applies to NROTC. Good luck!

Wishing everyone the best, my daughter submitted her application in January with the help of her NJROTC 1st Sergeant. I live out of state so I was no help! A zoom interview was set up for her with the College ROTC Staff on March 8, and my daughter thought she did well. A letter arrived on March14th from the school's Financial Aid and Scholarship Services. The Angels in the Outfield were working for her. She was selected for a one years NROTC Preparatory Scholarship which includes tuition, fee, on-campus housing, and meals. And, to claim the 4 yr Navy continuing scholarship, she needs to meet 7 bullet points listed on the letter.

Again, my best wishes hoping you all will receive an acceptance letter in the near future.!
