yes, but it is nto what it seems like. You need certain requirements to get an appointment during this school year, and if that does not work out I wanna make sure I have a backup.
I am very confused??? Are you not cutting it academically? Physically? What is to
work out? USMMA sent you there on their dime for the purpose of giving you a bridge year for academics. During that year all that is expected of you is to maintain a stellar GPA, be active in extracurricular activities and keep yourself in shape. MOCs know the candidates who are attending prep schools and quite honestly I've never heard of a prep candidate not receiving a nom
IF they have proven themselves academically and physically qualified.
Have you just changed your mind about which SA you want to attend because you're going to school with USCGA prep students?
The expectation of the academy that is sponsoring you is that you will attend their SA (in part because they are funding a portion of your post-secondary education). Ex: USCGA sends its foundation students to either NMMI or MMI; they've selected these as their candidates for the bridge year into the class of 2014, just as USMMA chose you to attend for their class of 2014.
Last but not least,
very important for both foundation and college students, is to keep your record clean (PLEASE watch what you post on FB, MySpace, etc. those photos may be funny now, but if the wrong person were to see them and finds them inappropriate (not good)...keg stand pictures, etc, not cool, especially with all the alcohol incidents occurring in the past years).
The majority of foundation recipients who prove themselves academically,
and receive positive recommendations from their instructors, will find themselves with an offer to attend their sponsoring SA.
Just_a_Mom is absolutely correct when she says "if you can't meet the requirements for USMMA you probably won't meet them for USCGA."
