Does anyone happen to know if the appointees will be offered an "appointee visit" before they accept or do they have to accept the offer first? I am guessing this would be at your own expense, so the sooner we can get visit info the better.

You may want to check these out. They are in-person and virtual tours:

My DS reached out to the "Team_Blue" contact and they wrote us back - apparently they are setting up both virtual and in-person visits for Appointees the first two weeks in April. The email said they will be reaching out soon. I had signed up for a "Discover USAFA" tour for April 4 thinking it was the only option, even for appointees, and just received this message a few minutes ago:

Good Morning,

We regret to inform you that the tour that you signed up for during the weeks of 1 April – 13 April 2022 were in error, and were supposed to be open for USAFA Appointees in the incoming Class of ’26. Unfortunately, due to technical issues, the website did not close the registration for these tours. We encourage you to sign up for any of the tours directly following those dates, one of our virtual tours, or one of our Windshield tours, that can be found on our website. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we hope to be able to host you in the future.

Very Respectfully,

USAFA Admissions Team

Yes, DS received the same email, but wasn't 100% sure if the visit was prior to accepting the appointment or if they had to accept it first. He doesn't want ask and have them think he is wavering... Flights are getting pricey and schedules are very tight!

The appointments don't have to be accepted to go on those tours or involved in appointee events. If you have an invitation, then by all means, go. These are to allow you to ask questions and get clarification if you are still unsure about accepting. And if you have already accepted, then the tours give you a peek into where you will be living for 4 years.

My DS (conditional appointment Sunday!) received the same email cancelling his tour reservation for 4/8.

DS looked on his portal for a link or invite and saw nothing. Also nothing in email as of yet. Does anyone know how the links/invitations are distributed to appointees to sign up?

We haven't heard back yet since receiving the same email about specific tours in the beginning of April for appointed applicants. We really need to book plane tickets so I'm hoping its soon.

Any idea when we can lock in for a visit? Trying to set up travel plans for the kid and wife to get up there.
