Appointment dates postponed?

As most of us already know, USNA has pushed the application due date back a month.

If so, how will apointment dates be affected? (I'm assuming appointments will be sent out a month later than usual as well)

Will all appointments be sent out later or only the ones who submit way later?

What if I have a letter of assurance to USMA and need to make a decision by May 1st?

Is this something that can be communicated to my Navy Blue and Gold officer basically asking USNA to make a decision on me before hand?

Thanks in advance

No one knows how all this will play out.

Don’t assume anything, including the “what if’s” of getting an LOA or appointment.

If you have to make a decision by 1 May, you make it.

If you are then offered a USNA appointment, you can then decide if you want to contact USMA and rescind your acceptance with sincere appreciation. That can be done.

USNA is not likely to make a special decision just for you, especially this year, when even routine processes have become complicated.

That is all months away. Focus on what you can control.

Totally agree with the Capt as usual. I would add that May 1 is the decision deadline for every college in the country, as USNA well knows, and I'm confident they will strive to issue most appointments prior to May 1. They don't want to lose their appointees to other colleges.

See Update this morning to the DoDMERB post =
As of 11 Sep = DoDMERB "Downloads" received from the SAs of applicants to undergo DoDMERB exams :wiggle:

For all candidates, focus on what you can control....if is a waste of time and effort thinking about "what if's".

USNA is well aware of the timing for college acceptances, The language in the Admissions website "Most candidates will be notified of their final status by April 15" hasn't changed for as long as I can recall.
