As a 2021 WP athlete recruit, can anyone tell me if I get a discectomy surgery for a bulging disc, if this will disqualify me? Dr, says I will be 100% in 6-8 weeks and will sign any required waiver to that fact. Thanks

I would recommend calling DoDMERB. I believe the packet even mentions asking them before opting for elective surgery. They'll be able to tell you whether or not the surgery would be disqualifying. I've included their toll-free number below.

Agree with calling DoDMERB. I've no doubt it will be a DQ requiring a remedial or a waiver once recovery is supposed to be complete. Just based on experience... and I have no inside knowledge.
