I do believe that I have read on this forum that today could possibly be another rush release of appointments to West Point, the 22nd of March, has anyone else read this?

It could be, but no TWE means we still in the game.

Did you accept USNA?
of course! USNA all the wayy! I'm just waiting to hear back from USMA if I get in or not.
Why wouldn’t you rescind your application?
I know it's a bit redundant or unnecessary, but I'm just waiting for USMA's decision. I've turned down USMMA and soon turn down USCGA. I just want to know if I can get into USMA. Is it that bad to wait after you have accepted an academy? I mean I also worked hard for my USMA application.

I don’t know how you feel but personally I would like to see as many people get an appointment to a service academy as possible. Some people are waiting to get an appointment to their #1 school while you have already accepted another. I just sympathize with the people waiting because I am one of them also.

Sympathize? I don't think you should bring feelings into play when applying to service academies.

I just want to know if I can get in. I'm declining all the applications after I receive a decision. It's like getting into Harvard and saying that I should just turn down Stanford and MIT application. Come on man.

Have a good day bro.

So you did indeed apply to all the academies ‘just to see if you could get in?’ I’ve actually never ‘met’ a person who admittedly did this. I’ve heard they exist. But it’s such a lengthy, difficult process that I couldn’t fathom anyone actually doing it.

Why wouldn’t you decline your other offers, if you are all in UNSA? It’s a serious question.

All I want is to see my decision for USMA. Is it that bad? lmao.

It’s one thing if you were genuinely up in the air and still considering USMA vs. USNA. But since you’ve already accepted USNA’s offer, you waiting to hear from USMA is purely to stoke your ego and to be able to tell people you got into both.

To each his own. But in my book, not classy. Not classy at all. I have little use for people who do things purely for their ego. Usually not a sign of a good leader. But hey, if you think you’ve earned the right...

It’s your call to pull the app or not. It’s just my opinion, but you committed to USNA, who cares about the others. Don’t look back, focus 100% on USNA and your prep for there. Some will say you earned the right to find out. Your call to make. I think what is rubbing people the wrong way is the lmao, bro, and your overall attitude comes off as egotistical. Part of being a military officer is checking your ego, being humble and making hard decisions.

I don't think it's about my ego and to be able to tell people about the good news. I honestly just want to see my decision. I never knew it was this bad. I apologize ya'll. I am really sorry. I didn't think it would be this bad for me to wait for an academy after accepting one.

I sincerely apologize.

No need to apologize to me. You haven’t wronged me in any way. Just telling you how I feel about the situation.

That’s it precisely!

Why do I get the feeling that @CallSignGaspar might turn out to be “that guy” at USNA? Hopefully not, for his sake.

I apologize for my unprofessional behavior. I thought it was normal for people to wait for college decisions after accepting one. My first and last time to apply to college everyone. I apologize again.

I really didn't mean to start anything bad in the forums. Everyone helped me in the forums to get to where I am right now, which is to get into a service academy. The connections that I made with everyone in the forums truly helped me with my application process, and I'm sorry if I came off in a bad way.

@ callsigngasper From two different posts:

“I just want to know if I can get in. I’m declining all the applications after I receive a decision. It’s like getting into Harvard and saying that I should just turn down Stanford and MIT application. Come on man.”

And

“All I want is to see my decision for USMA. Is that bad? Lmao.”

So yes you yourself did say that. At this point in the process it’s not a good look. At all. And to continue to speak to stoke your ego amongst people who are AGONIZING waiting to hear is.....awful! And throwing in a “bro” and “LMAO” is actually rude imo.

Sympathy and empathy are indeed qualities good leaders possess. So is humbleness. And also knowing when to not speak. There is a lot of pain and worry and fret and anxiety with many waiting to hear. I understand BC I was one of them last year. You comments are just not coming off well.

One mistake and I come off as a bad person.

I didn't plan to be egotistical. I didn't mean to come off in a bad way. I just wanted a DECISION.

I'm sorry.

Okay let’s get back on track to the anxious candidates awaiting news. Unless admissions said anything I would caution it’s all rumors and speculation.
