Many candidates can be offered off of a single slate.
You also don't know what nom those 2 were slotted for. Maybe they had a Presidential nom, or a LOA and just needed a nom and didn't have to win a slate, or they came off another slate that you aren't on, etc.
Too many variables to get discouraged right now.

The last I saw a little more than half the class has accepted appointments - and there are offers outstanding waiting for a decision. Add another 200 or so from USMAPS means there are about 300 appointments left. With the new response date of May 1 instead of April 15, it is more difficult to compare the timeline to previous years.

Although is pertains to USAFA, my MOC nominated 10 candidates for USAFA. 8 were appointed, one got prep school, the last one got a falcon scholarship. So it is possible for an entire slate to get something.

I should have been more clear. That is not the date for USMA to let candidates know of their status. That is the date by which candidates already offered appointments are required to accept or decline.
