Hello, I most likely have a similar situation as others may, please help if possible.
This weekend I recieved a nom to USAFA. I also recieved the full appointment to USCGA. The deadline to accept the appointment is May 1. I noticed that people are notified all the way until June. I would prefer attending Air Force, but I do not want to miss out on both. My question is, have people started recieving full appointments, will I know something in time, and any other advice? Thank you!

It appears on the USAFA Class of 2025 Appointment list, yes, offers have begun to go out. I would begin researching the schools and your major. I have an appointment to USMMA and a nom to USAFA. Still waiting to hear from a senator. I am weighing pros and cons. I have contacted locals (who I know) that are attending each and am asking them all sorts of questions. They are home for the holidays and I’m lucky enough to be meeting up with them. I have also looked back in the forums a few years to see what questions or posts may have been discussed that I may not have thought about.

Congrats on your appointment. I have never looked into USCGA, but I am guessing the same applies. You can accept an appointment to a SA. If you receive an appointment to another preferred SA later, you can decline the initial acceptance, and accept the new appointment. My DD considered doing this (2019), but ended up staying with the initial acceptance. She contacted her Admin Counselor to confirm changing acceptance was ok. I recommend you do the same. Congrats and Good luck.

You will most likely hear from USAFA before you have to let USCGA know. If not, you can accept CGA and then decline if you get AFA. Good luck.

Congratulations. My son is waiting to hear from two senators in Maryland. Has anyone heard from Senators Cardin and Van Hollen?

If I recall, Van Hollen said I would hear back mid-January and Cardin said early February. Could be different depending on the academy.

Here is a chart that shows how self-reported appointments accumulated over time for the last three classes and where we currently sit for the C/O 2025. March is the most popular month, but several appointees are still notified as late as the beginning of June for recent years. Each line ends at the date of the last self-reported appointment for that given year.

Of course, the people who post to this forum are probably not be a representative sample of the applicant population, so this information should be taken with a grain of salt.

Good luck!

You should remember the senators are the hardest nominations to get. You are competing against everyone in your state. If you live in Delaware, Great! less people to compete with. California... not so much
Actually a good friend of mine got a nomination in california today! I'm proud of him!

Don't give up. Make sure to apply for the VP nomination, as well.
I applied for president, vice and rep. My test scores are low though even though I retook my act comes in tomorrow. I applied with
27 (English)
24 (math)
33 (reading)
29 (science)
Which suck, I only got to take the test once as my centers keep getting shut down but paper doesn't show that so it's what it is I guess

@ConnorF2002 - to reiterate what @retiredradar stated above - your acceptance is not a legally binding agreement. You can accept one, and then if circumstances change, you can change your mind and accept the other offer. I accepted USMMA and then was offered USAFA late - it happens. We make decisions based on the information we have at the time. In the case of deciding on a Service Academy - you can change your mind and it is ok.

The binding agreements happen when you get on campus. Some appointees will not show up for indoc date -- and sadly, that too is ok. Sad because someone who was dying to get in was not afforded the chance to fill their vacancy due to the other applicants failure to give advance notice.

Rejected from both my senators and waiting to see on my Representative... This really isn't looking great
It's hard to imagine you won't get a nomination for your top choice academy. Anyone who is qualified and has a realistic shot at an Academy should make it past this stage. Good luck, I'm rooting for you!

I am also rooting for you @FlyFalcon! However, this statement is not true. In highly competitive states there are plenty of qualified students who do not receive nominations. This is why whenever someone asks "What are my chances" we have to tell them that we don't know. Getting a nomination is a HUGE part of the application and is certainly not something that should be underestimated.

Thanks USAFA_86. I live by a big military base plus as my sentors both said over 400 applicates for 10 spots. My tests weren't up to par. I naturally have test anxiety but that's not excuse. If I can command a cross country team in a high stress environment to win against our number one rivals than this should be nothing. I do really well under pressure when it comes to situations and people but numbers on a page are another story. Again not an excuse just what it is.

ConnorF2002, at least up to last year what Gabe said is correct. During last years virtual Academy Experience Program for accepted students (https://www.uscga.edu/aep/) during one of the sessions (I think the last session) the director of admissions explains when people on the waitlist might be offered an appointment. He specifically uses the case that students on other waitlists get an offer and switch programs.
