Appointment to CGAS

Yes, any Prep school will work. Usually those that go to NAPS are the top scholars since it is a little more difficult. At least, this is how it was explained to us by the Navy when my DD went to Annapolis to check out both Surface Warfare and Marine Corps NBC Officer before deciding on the US Coast Guard. Of course, overflow may be sent to GMC or MMI if there isn't enough seats. And don't let the non-NAPS Prep schools fool you, they can be difficult Academically too especially the last semester.

Congratulations to you and your DD! I’m sure it was an extremely proud day for you both! The CGAS program is fantastic and, oftentimes, former prepsters volunteer to be CGAS cadre so there’s a bond of shared experience that never quite goes away.
 
Thank you but my DD is full tilt into Swab Summer but she was a self-prep last year.

And yes, we are very proud of her for many reasons!

I just noticed the Scholars were sworn in today because I was looking for her on Pduddy.
