Hello all,

I have been reading on this forum about USNA notifications in March/April. It seems to me that most offers of appointment will go out in March. How many offers usually go out in April? I am asking this because I will be out of the country from April 5-14. If I get the notification that I have been accepted to USNA during this timeframe, I will have only 1 day (literally the night of April 14) to notify USMA as to whether I will accept USMA or USNA's offer because I must respond to USMA by April 15. Has this happened to anyone before?

From what I have heard and learned from other posts on this forum, most spots are filled by the start of April. I hope that's accurate.

Hmm. Interesting situation. I guess all you can do is hope you know before you leave. Maybe a phone call to USNA or USMA could help you out.

Most people who get good news hear by the end of March.

That said, there are definitely candidates who get the BFE in April. Based on years past, your odds will definitely decrease come April but hope is not extinguished.

Also, USNA has done a few different things this year, such as requesting many more 7th semester grades than in recent years. So there is no guarantee that the overall approach to appointments from years past will hold true this year.

My understanding is that you will have until May 1 to accept the appointment.
