Architecture as an AFROTC Career Field

My junior in high school is weighing careers, fields of study, and how these fit with a desire to do AFROTC or NROTC. We saw that an AFROTC "Highly Desirable Major" is Architecture. I've tried to Google this field and talk to retired AF friends, but can't find much info, other than for Health Facilities.
So, I thought I'd come here for some insights from those in the know. Does anyone know about this career field for the AF? I'm guessing it's in Civil Engineering, but does the AF provide the required internships and licensure guidance to become a fully licensed architect?

What you major in seldom has anything to do with what job you will be assigned in the military. I wouldn't go into the military unless there are several jobs you would be willing to do regardless of your major. I leave it to others to explain how one might use a degree in Architecture in a related field in the military.
 
32E3A is the specific career field. They usually wind up either in rated positions (i.e. not doing architectural design), or in a CE AFSC, on the standard CES track as any other AF Civil Engineer (i.e. not doing architectural design). The title is Air Force Architect or Air Force Architectural Engineer (depending on the degree obtained).

Most architectural design in the AF is bid out to private firms. Very little design is done in-house, engineering or architectural.

Come on. It is the architect who designs the golf course and the officer's club when they build new Air Force bases. Come on man. Think;);)
 
Many years ago, a friend went through AFROTC to pay for college. He majored in architecture, and a career in that field was very important to him. His job in ADAF was in Civil Engineering as a building inspector, and it didn't meet his dreams in any way. He served his four years, was grateful for the training received, and to have college paid for, and made his exit. No regrets.

Do you know if as today has that change or not? I also planning to do that but I don't want to do Civil Engineering.
