Army LTC experince questions

I'm interested in the Army Leadership Training Course so I had a few questions.

First has anybody here on this page has ever gone through the Army Leadership Training Course?

If so what was your experience like in regards to completing the course?

Also, what kind of advice would you give to someone who would want to do the course?

Finally how did you prepare in advance for the course?
 
LTC is no longer a thing, so if you are reading somewhere about "LTC"...disregard...If you are a college student who has not participated in Army ROTC yet, but is interested in becoming an Army Officer currently you need to talk to the ROTC Battalion at your school. There will be opportunities to attend what is called CIET this summer to become qualified to earn a contract starting your junior year, but there will no longer be the opportunity to attend LTC to "check out the Army".

At my Battalion we have no plans to send someone who walks in off the street to LTC unless they are a super SAL and tell us they have a burning desire to become an Army Officer. I will also be asking them to enroll in Army ROTC class now to make sure check them out before we send them.

LTC used to be an opportunity to send someone to try the Army out and decide if it's for them after they attend. That is no longer the case.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Yes it does so what is CIET like anyways is it similar to LTC or is it very different?

Also did you do CIET and if not could you give me whatever information you can about it?
 
Go to cadet command for recent material on CIET. Good summary by gokings post of plan behind CIET. Gen. Smith is gone and not all of his ideas were put in place or adopted. Son was advised that cadre may not know until late spring if all, or how many, of MS1s will be going to CIET b/t freshman sophomore year. He would like to go this year to open up chance to apply for CULP or specialty school for next summer.
