For those of us who are thinking about attending this game I found this link on a USNA Parents Facebook page. https://massbytrain.com/special-ser...bSBCde-KcG5LiX19fm7loNqrOCV4Gjc7ZeVPio8U3LB74
All football games at home are mandatory, and Army-Navy is most definitely mandatory. There is the big March On! The Brigade and Corps make up two massive seating areas. Even restrictees go. Oh-dark-thirty bus rides are part of the ritual. They are in a duty status until after the schools’ alma maters are sung.Do Plebes get to go to the game? If they do get to go, do they have any free time? I'm guessing no on the second question, but thought I'd ask. I'm wondering if I should be planning a trip to Foxborough. Thanks.
Guessing here.I'm curious to see the additional logistical considerations in place for the proposed movement of the Plebes and willing upperclass. The following are rhetorical:
1. If it is 8 hours, why not drive through the night on the way there? Sure, a bus is not the best way to get sleep, but it renders the convention center moot.
2. What will the logistics look like in the background? How will the cots get there and back? Send staff? Send an advanced team of MIDN?
3. How will the MIDN eat and shower? Provide catering? Let them go out on liberty? Give them MREs? Bring in portable showers?
I guess where I am going with those is that I feel that, while it is proposed, there is a lot of extra logistics that go into something like that. Curious to see what USNA does!
What I wonder about, is where Will USMA be lodged?
Basically a straight shot across I-84 from WP.Looks like a <4HR bus ride for them, so likely no different than if it was in Baltimore/DC.
FYI Jet Blue has 99$ each way. Mine is leaving Thursday evening and returning Sunday afternoon. Non stop.DS (c/o '25) and buddies are opting to do their own travel. Looking at driving or train with maybe a stop in NYC. I worry they won't consider all aspects of an operation of this nature. However they are adults and in two years will be planning much more intricate operations so let them try this trip with little oversight from dad. Of course I will be involved enough to provide the risk oversight to minimize chance of failure.![]()
Have they been authorized to travel on their own or is this just advanced planning purpose?DS (c/o '25) and buddies are opting to do their own travel. My Youngster said they were given a choice to travel with Brigade on bus or travel on own.Have they been authorized to travel on their own or is this just advanced planning purpose?
There are many ways to get tickets. I’m a big fan of StuHub, where for some reason, the prices for A-N seem less inflated than usual for a sold-out game. There’ll be plenty of availability up to the day of the game. Make sure you do give your friend a heads-up at some point, because they have responsibilities during the game re where to be and when to be there.I am looking to surprise my friend, a plebe, at the game this year. I myself would be a 1st year NROTC student, does anyone have any insight on how I may best do this. Should I approach my XO or buy tickets through the stadium?
