They chew up yardage on the option roll outs, but yet they insist on fullback up the middle???? Coach, KEEP RUNNING THE OPTION UNTIL THEY PROVE THEY CAN STOP IT!!!! FRUSTRATING! Trust your players to do what they do best. GO ARMY!!
I think CBS was over-the-top spotlighting Steelman's reactions after the fumble and game.
I am a West Point graduate and a loyal Army fan. I am not a mean person and I do not feel I am being overly critical.
Steelman had a great career stastically due to his many games and I wish him well in his Army career. However, I believe he was 0-4 against Navy and 1-3 against AF. In many games he made great plays but he clearly had significant trouble game-after-game with fumbles. I would rather have a stastically less capable QB that protects the ball.
I was in the Army 35 years. If any commander in the Army was as unsuccessful as this coach they would have NO CHANCE of keeping thier job.
One additional point that I have learned from a long Army career which included several combat tours. Champions make the play at the critical time. Others make mistakes at the critical time.
