Army ROTC 2023-2024 1st Board

I am confused by the results I got. I won the Early Commissioning Program Scholarship for the 4 Military Junior Colleges, but on my application I chose to not be considered for this. Is there anyway that I can still apply for the 4-year scholarship or change the scholarship?
Think you can decline and still be considered on following boards.

I would check with the recruiter you were working with.

I read some posts from past years that those awarded with the Junior college scholarship were boarded on the remaining boards. Some of them won 3 and 4 year scholarships, so it's not over for you. I would contact someone and ask what you need to do.

Do they give out 4 years during the second board or is it mostly 3 years?

I could be wrong, but I think they do give out some 4 years on the second board and sometimes 3 year scholarships turn into 4 year on the 3rd board.

Hey, I got the 4-year scholarship and under the status for each school it says "P". Anyone know what this means?

I received an Ike Skelton ECP scholarship as well, even though I chose not to be considered for one. I will most likely reject it, but does this mean I’ve got good chances for the following boards to come or should I consider it more seriously?

Congratulations! My son received the Ike Skelton ECP Scholarship, as well. He is trying to figure out this exact same thing. There is mixed information on-line. And he has already been accepted to Norwich, which is a Senior Military College. If offered in the 3rd round he would take it, because being a 2LT in two years vs. four is enticing. Not to mention it is still four years of paid college. And another scholarship is not guaranteed. He said it would have been better to not have been offered anything at this point. It's a dilemma for sure. But it is still a positive, I feel. The US Army ROTC believes in you and wants to invest in you. And they feel you can lead in two years.

Just a plug for Norwich. They’re very generous with scholarships and your child can still earn an ROTC scholarship once there if they don’t get one in the national competition. It’s a great school.

I was offered the 2-year ECP scholarship, and although I'm incredibly grateful for the offer it simply does not align with my interests and intents I had with going into the army, so more than likely I will reject it. On the other hand, from what I have read it is a take-what-you-can-get type of situation, and my odds of getting a 4 or 3-year from the next two boards are relatively low because of the offer. It's a tough situation to be in because I would hate to reject the only offer I might get. Does anyone have any advice/information that could help me with my dilemma? I really do want to hold onto hope for the next two boards, but I'd hate to bite the hand that feeds and be left with nothing at the end of the day.

No guarantees, but check out these posts from last year's 3rd board. They were awarded 3 year scholarships after rejecting the ECP scholarship.

Yea I think 1st board is only 4 years. 2nd board is where 3 years start going out AFAIK, I could be wrong though.
There are three year scholarships that will get upgraded to four year. There are more 4 year scholarships to be won.

When will they be upgraded? So if I receive a 3 year on the second board when could it potentially be upgraded?

What are your stats? Do you feel as though you have a strong application?
