Army ROTC 2023-2024 2nd Board

Yep. Wondering if this is the final decision or if the info is still being uploaded since it still says January 2024 board.

Boarded/Under Consideration:
This applicant was boarded by the October 2023 Selection Board and was not selected for an offer at this time. The applicant will remain eligible for the January 2024 board. Please continue working with your Army ROTC Cadre or contact your assigned processor or email us at usarmy.knox.usacc.mbx.train2lead@army.mil
Same for my son.

Super excited and appreciative for the 3 year scholarship (and given potential waiver timelines, this might be a blessing in disguise), but a little surprised DD didn’t pull a 4 year.

1400 SAT

4.2 GPA (all honors, including hs math starting 7th grade, 10 APs)

National-level leadership in ECs

Varsity athlete in 2 sports (3x/each, and state champs 1x)

Assume PMS interview went well, as we know they communicated with admissions that they were interested in her

I’m guessing PFA scores were not as strong… she does better with sprints than with the mile. 🤷‍♂️

I had similar test scores and gpa, slightly less strong EC’s but still tons of leadership and service, competition must have been tough, gotta hope for a four year in March

Don’t get me wrong, I really do think (after project management analysis skills kicked in), that the 3-year is the way to go for DD. Was just surprised, given recent trends.

Anyone know if it’s possible to stick with 3-year if offered 4-year from March boards?

Also, accept date is March 9. Probably won’t hear back from AF on HSSP until the next week. I think I’ve seen you can accept then decline, though this has been primarily noted re: accepting appointments. Any issue ls decline post-acceptance for other branch ROTC?

My DS was awarded 3 year at Citadel, VMI, and a state tech college. His ROO called him to congratulate him. He is currenlty waiting on AFROTC and NROTC and then USAFA and USCGA. Nerves are getting the best of him for sure. I tried to look for his scholarship letter on the ROTC website and can't figure out where it is. Anyone know?
Can I ask, is he genuinely interested in every single service?

Will we hear about AFROTC next week? I thought the 2nd board was only for space force?

Also just for comparison, my DS won a 4 year to UIUC. He has a 1370 SAT, 4.0 unweighted with 70 dual credit stem heavy hours (he's homeschooled), maxed the PFA, good interview we think, no varsity sports (homeschooled) runs 5ks and league volleyball, civil air patrol cadet commander, student council at community college and president of honor society, first generation college student. I would say your dd was very close, also I don't know how it works, but maybe depends on school choices. Your DD seems to be very popular with the academies and my DS hasn't heard a peep from them yet besides attending the summer seminars Lol! Congratulations to your DD on all her well deserved accomplishments!!

If anyone's interested in winner stats, I was just awarded a 4 year.

I applied with a 4.4 GPA, 7 AP classes, 1530 SAT, JROTC for 4 years and officer for 2, two varsity sports throughout high school, NHS, good PMS interview, maxed out the run on the PFA and average on the pushups and situps.

I cant get on the website even though my password is correct. It says incorrect username or password over and over. Anyone know how to fix this?

Now that they announce the winners, do we wait for the DOBMER information to be provided in the Dashboard? As there are no details yet (except for that information in the Additonal Information section)

My son's portal still says Boarded/UC. It seems it is still "stuck" there and not yet moved to Board Ready for the March board, or Winner from the January board. Seems like limbo. Anyone else have the same experience so far?

From reading this forum, I'm assuming the Army notified all the 4-year winners yesterday. Any 3-year winners notified as well from the January board?

Looks like at least two 3-year scholarships on the 2024 thread: https://www.serviceacademyforums.com/index.php?threads/arotc-scholarship-thread-class-of-2028.93083/

Still holding out hope, as my DS still shows Boarded/UC, as well. Good luck!

“BOARDER/UNDER-CONSIDERATION” people may want to read this>> my portal says B/UC and states I didn’t win octobers board (I wasn’t in it so it must not be updated yet) so I contacted my top schools ROO, he says they received a full list of scholarship winners so definitely contact them if you are unsure or have B/UC still showing up. Unfortunately I was passed up by this board but maybe some of you will be lucky and happen to be on the list. Good luck!

The other wild card no one ever knows about is the CBEF survey. It's worth a fair number of points.

Yea my status also still says Boarded/UC. I'm assuming it's either they haven't finished finalizing the decisions yet or just haven't updated the status yet. Oh man this is so nervewracking!
