Army ROTC 2023-2024 2nd Board

Mine says BOARDED (NA at this time) Does this mean he’s not chosen for any scholarship?
No, that means you've been reviewed by the board and you're in consideration alongside every other applicant in this round.

Once results are finalized, your status will either change to "Winner" if you received a scholarship offer or "board/under consideration" if you do not. If the latter, you will automatically move to the March board for another chance.

Is it a certainty they do this in alphabetical order? I mean they could go in order of when applications were completed or something else.

But maybe it's well known that is how they do it since everyone seems to be operating off that premise.
It is not a certainty. My son did email on Tuesday to confirm he wasn't missing anything and they said he is good to go and just has been reviewed by the board yet. Still unchanged as of this AM.

If school list is locked, does it mean anything other than boarded?
How can you tell if it's locked? Can you not move them at all? Or can you move them but it won't let you save any changes?

I seem to recall in the past that people said it was a good sign if your schools locked. That you might be getting a scholarship offer. But who really knows?

Hello All,
The one thing that we all do (I did it last time myself), is read through tons of old posts to figure it all out. There aren’t any real ways you can tell you Made it or did not until the day results are released. Only thing I saw that was a good match was the results coming out the following Thursday. That’s what happened in October and matched what everyone before had said. Schools command (works this way pretty much for all services, did for the navy as well) isn’t allowed to say anything about who has been awarded or not until the results get signed and approved by the right authority. Usually about a week after the board. I know I’m biting my nails for this one. But don’t worry, no one is out of the running this week. Only the actual boards are happening at this time.

I read about that in the boards for class of '27, but I never saw that anyone reported it locking in October even if they ended up winning a scholarship.

Yeah, can't read too much into anything one way or the other. We just all wish there was some way we could have insight or control the process, when in fact we have zero control.

Also have to remind myself there are many students who do not get any scholarship offer in the January board, only to wait and be offered a 4-year scholarship after the March board. All you can do is trust the process and try to be patient.

Boarded or selected? In any case, I was told schools are no longer available for moving around.
My DS received a scholarship in October, and his school list never appeared to be locked. I remember reading the old posts and thought that was an indicator, but in his case it was not. Good luck to all!!

Right, that's what I thought. They didn't seem to lock with winners last round.

DS said his application status changed today to ‘Boarded’. First time applicant (did not apply for October boards). Last name starts with N.

This was the post I made when my middle son was awarded a 4 year. That board started 1/24. His status didn't change to boarded until 1/31 technically after board should have been over. 7 days after it started. So if you are at the end of the alphabet don't sweat it.

DS Qualified today from DoDMERB.:cool:
Adding here for future reference timeline.

  1. PMS Interview 12/9/21
  2. 2nd Board January 11 Deadline
  3. 2nd Board January 24-28
  4. Awarded Feb 9 Winner 4 Year
  5. Eye and Med Exams 2/24
  6. Dodmets Exams received by DODMERB 3/7
  7. DoDMERB Qualified 3/9
