It just released. DD 4 year to three schools instead of 6 or something listed. Is it because slots for those schools are full?

Most likely to a 3.5 year once on campus. I never saw a 3 go to a 4, but was able to get an additional semester added onto several scholarships.

Not necessarily. More than a few went from boarded/uc to winner last time. Until the boarded/uc has this board listed and says you are going to be considered for March, it’s just old info that hasn’t been updated.

No way to really predict this. No real tells.

Is that for performing well academically, in the ROTC program..? And how competitive, if at all, is it?

Don't worry about which schools it is to...contact your #1 school (provided you were admitted to the school) - the PMS and ROO can get your scholarship moved pretty easily...it just takes a few emails and phone calls.

RMID (the scholarship and number nerds at USACC) tries to align the scholarships according to an algorithm they have, but it's very easy to move that scholarship to any school you're accepted to.
 
DS got a 3-year to his top 3: Columbia, Fordham, and Georgetown. Interesting that the Navy gave him a 4-year to his top 3, and that's with a non-technical major.
 
I don’t actually see DD’s winner letter in the file upload tab….

Thank you for this tidbit! I went and checked and AROTC is showing up in my son's DoDMERB as well!

Boarded/Under Consideration:

This applicant was boarded by the October 2023 Selection Board and was not selected for an offer at this time. The applicant will remain eligible for the January 2024 board. Please continue working with your Army ROTC Cadre or contact your assigned processor or email us at usarmy.knox.usacc.mbx.train2lead@army.mil

But actually he was not in 1st round at all. His application was done in late December, he was not boarded in October. Really confusing!

My son had a 3 year and his school paid 4 years of room and board and with scholarships, his first year tuition was reasonable. Once the scholarship kicked in his Sophomore year, we never saw another bill.

I was wondering about how to fill in the first year. My son got three years. We are also waiting for FAFSA. If we need to pay the first year, can FAFSA be applied to the bill of first year?

Is the algorithm matching school competitiveness to candidates or capacity or other issues? No admissions yet except MA appointment.

Same boat... Just waiting for the red banner to announce that all winners have been awarded. I did not finish my application until late November. The text you are seeing will update once all winners of the Jan board have been awarded, I believe.
 
Was selected for a 4 year scholarship to my top three schools... the winners letter says I've won "full tuition." Will this include room and board as well?
