Army ROTC 2nd Board Results!

My son just got one, too...from a school I'm certain NOBODY has heard of.

It was also...oddly enough...sent to his email address, but with a female's name in the To: block of the form letter.
Same here, emailed from a school called gannon, and they addressed it to "joshua" (my name is Jack)

Also not sure what the problem with naming the school is, given that I believe most of us received the email

Didn't know so many would get the same email as my son...at the time I posted the note on this forum...and I wasn't inclined to mention a specific school, without knowing exactly what was going on. Could have been a clerical error, could have been a scam, could have been a "Department of Truth" conspiracy come-to-life, so I erred in the side of caution.

Perhaps, CC has an OPSEC problem. I’ll ask around the hill tomorrow.

No need. The PMS responded to that email and said their names and address's book was switched on accident and that he was working to fix it. He apologized that the names were wrong but the email was sent correctly to the recipients about going to their college for ROTC.

I’ll ask around anyway.

Dang this is the only time I wish I got a a spam email that uses the wrong name to address me. 😂 um Am I the only one who didn’t get one of those emails?

Didn't get one either. Maybe it was only sent out to people in a certain region? I'm pretty far away from PA.
Yes, I believe it was people who are near the North-East or have put any of the schools in this battalion on their list.

Alright ganon university seems pretty sus. How did they even get the list? Also why are they contacting students who didn’t know even list them in SOI?
I can't speak for others, but my email didn't say anything about winning. It was simply a recruitment email "if' you win the scholarship. Not sure if there were different emails but that is mine atleast.

There are a few ROOs (Gannon, ECU, and some others) that send that recruitment email to every single person that submits an application for the ROTC scholarship regardless of SOI. Part of the problem is that the database that USACC uses doesn't allow us to create a contact list of those who have listed our programs as SOI. You have two choices, to click on each record on your list of applicants to get contact info, or to print the entire list. Some go the easy way and print the whole list and email everyone. Most of us do not do that.

Is it safe to assume that you have not yet been notified of the scholarship recipients for the 2nd round?

That is a correct assumption. I can see them as soon as the are posted. The there is a review period prior to the scholarship portal being updated and notifications are sent.

Results must have been shared with PMS as my DD received a congratulations email from University today. Looking forward to formal written correspondence in the coming days.
Congrats to your DD! Did her portal change before or after the email?
