Ugh, results expected mid-January on my son's portal, too. Was hoping for some news before Christmas.

Yeah, what gives? Are they rolling 1st and 2nd Boards together?! Did they get too many apps to be able to sort through in a timely fashion?

Don’t think they’re together. Second board results will, in my opinion, likely be Reese’s early February.

There’s a retired LTC on this forum who retired as a PMS and wrote a book about getting ROTC scholarships. I don’t recall his name. Anyway, he might be able to enlighten us on the actual mechanics of the board.

I’m guessing they have a hundred or so files to review. They reviewed a certain amount today so the status changed. Tomorrow and Wednesday will be more applications reviewed and the status will change at that time too.

I’d wait until Friday to see if the status changes.

@AROTCPMS has a podcast, other insight into the process. If you want to search his posts for insight/info. Not retired through. But good info.

I got the same message... I wonder if it's a rough deadline. I feel like historically they've come out much earlier. Then again, historically, the website hadn't been down for like 5 weeks.

If that school is on their list, apply. You may not hear about a scholarship until the 3rd board and by then it will be too late to apply.

UGH! I guess you're right. 45-85.00 per kid to apply X 5 schools. My butt better sparkle when I am old and can't wipe myself anymore and need them to do it.

No, It doesn't. They just put mine in as under consideration and I was worried about it earlier today. They are reviewing applications all week so you have nothing to be worried about right now. They just haven't gotten to yours yet.

It's just a status. It is neither a good sign nor a bad sign. It's just a fact. You probably didn't mean it this way but I hate seeing people trying to "read the tea leaves" in these forums. There are no tea leaves.

Sounds like some were boarded even though the interview form was uploaded after dec 2. Anyone know how “soft” that Dec 2 document deadline is? My DS’s interview form was uploaded and approved Dec 9, with all other forms uploaded prior to Dec 2. Wondering whether he might be boarded this week. I’m sure he’ll be checking his portal.
