Fingers crossed.....strange that it might be on a weekend and maybe it's just maintenance?

ive been trolling these boards since the 1st round. If i remember right, the site came down shortly before they updated the statuses.

Best of luck to all, but here is what it says on the Army ROTC Portal sign-in page:

"* The 4-Year High School Scholarship Application may be unavailable from Saturday, 21 March 2015, 0600 (EDT) until Monday, 23 March, 2015, 0600 (EDT) due to routine system maintenance.

* The 4-Year High School Scholarship Application may be unavailable from Saturday, 04 April 2015, 0600 (EDT) until Monday, 06 April, 2015, 0600 (EDT) due to routine system maintenance.

* The 4-Year High School Scholarship Application may be unavailable from Saturday, 18 April 2015, 0600 (EDT) until Monday, 20 April, 2015, 0600 (EDT) due to routine system maintenance."

Oh, well. Hopefully we're still close- ROTC liason at prospective college expects results to be posted later this coming week.

Reposting a great post from "clarksonarmy", Friday 30 Jan 2015 (the day the 2nd AROTC Board results came out) from the AROTC 2nd Board thread, that gives insight to the "process":

OK guys...so we are no longer speculating on what schools do or don't know. As of about 4 days ago [ Falcon A assumes this was either Mon or Tues 26/27 Jan] the tentative offers were posted in the system. I could go in and see the offers to my school and open up an applicant and see what offers they had. We have also been told to look at those offers and make sure we want those offers made. If an applicant doesn't have the credentials to get into our school then we are going to tell Cadet Command not to make that offer. That is the reason why posting the offers doesn't equal releasing the info to the applicants. We are told not to release this information until the offer letters are mailed. Once the letter is in the mail there is no turning back and at that time ROOs are on the phones calling their winners or sending them emails.

I assume you are responding to the following words in the quote I posted:

"If an applicant doesn't have the credentials to get into our school then we are going to tell Cadet Command not to make the offer."

I am not a ROO,so I do not know what all of the considerations they have to take into account. It would probably be good for you to send an email to the ROO at your #1 school to make sure they know you have already been accepted.

I don't really know if the site going down for maintenance is due to them changing statuses...my status changed on a Friday when the site wasn't down for maintenance. I wouldn't get your hopes up in thinking that your status will change after a maintenance weekend, as there are many more maintenance weekends than there are dates that they change statuses.

Just curious, what are the top schools of intent for y'all waiters or y'all's DS/DD?

DD, University of North Georgia, Nursing. Already Accepted to the University...just waiting for ROTC.

DS, Virginia Tech and Citadel (already accepted to both), but also still waiting on USMA.

Stephen F Austin State University, DS, Nursing, accepted into university with academic scholarship and accepted into School of Honors. Orientation scheduled and paid for. Housing deposit made and room is assigned. DS training regularly for PT. ...just waiting for ROTC notification. He will attend SFA with or without scholarship because he likes the school and we can afford it.

DS first choice VMI. Already accepted after that WP ( still waiting ) Norwich (accepted) Campbell Accepted NC State ( still waiting ) Citadel ( accepted)

DS also applied to TAMU Corpus Christi and was accepted. Did NOT APPPLY to TCU, however. We visited TCU. We sat through a financial aid presentation and did not hear anything else after the reality of $50k per year set in. There's no way we can justify spending that much for an education. The "what if" list was too overwhelming. If he gets the scholarship to TCU, we will ask to transfer. If it doesn't transfer, we will pay the difference on the scholarships he already has and hope he can get a campus based scholarship at SFA. We are not willing to take on debt for a college education (other than a debt of service). We did not finance our degrees and we have taught our kids to avoid debt.

For my DS, Texas A&M, North Georgia, Citadel, Norwich...accepted to all. Totally agree with Ginko on the cost/debt topic. TAMU College Station and North Georgia are both offering "in-state" tuition even though we're in CA. That's just hard to beat and Norwich has been very generous with their merit awards. In short, my DS can attend TAMU or UNG for about the same, if not less, than a state university in CA (and there are no SMC's in CA). An ROTC scholarship would be fantastic but we really appreciate the schools granting out-of-state cadets a favorable deal in light of their commitment.

Hi everyone - new mom here. Does anyone know what the process is when kids get into their number 1,4,5 schools, but not 2 or 3?
I saw the post above about the schools telling cadet command not to make an offer if the student didn't get in/or probably wouldn't get in, however, I spoke with one of her accepted school recruiters today and he said they can't tell cadet command anything- they just get a list of the kids who were offered scholarships at their university. He said if you get an offer for a school you were rejected from, you need to apply for a scholarship transfer. Any other insights on this??? Thanks

The info you were given by the recruiter is correct. You accept the scholarship to the school that rejected you and then attempt to transfer it. Instructions on how to do this are sent along with the snail mail announcing the scholarship.
