Son was sent email, not stating which college, notifying him he received a 4 year AROTC scholarship. His portal is still 'boarded.' Think someone pulled the trigger a bit early.....

Anyone else receive phone calls or emails?

Was the email from one of the schools he had listed on his application?

You're right about pulling the trigger early, Battalions are told not to contact anyone until the official results have been released. Seems like some ROO's just can't follow orders and try and start their recruitment a little early.

Don't get to excited yet, until the Army signs off on the scholarship awards and the official list has been approved for release, things can still change.

We are waiting. DS and DD have had no changes to their dashboard at all. No school locked in, still B/UC.

For those that are waiting for results, don't think that not hearing from a school by email or phone call right now means anything in regard to whether you will be offered a scholarship from this board. ROO's are told not to make contact, some break the rules and do so anyway. The results will be out soon enough and until they are nothing is official.

Wow that’s an interesting situation. Is there any sibling rivalry? Will there be any resentment in your opinion if one gets a scholarship and the other doesn’t?

Yeah, it is kind of weird. They are boy/girl twins. One is leaning more towards West Point but got a TWE Monday. He may go civil prep so he has other options in his mind. DD is ROTC bound, not much doubt in her mind. They don't seem competitive, but it has crossed my mind more than once if one loses out and one wins. Ugh.
