There’s a lot threads now trying to come to a consensus about what B/UC vs B means but I just wanted to know has anyone been physically emailed “congrats” rather than basing their prediction of perceived indicators. Or has anyone’s status changed to winner?

What I say to that debate is "What does it matter?". You're either under consideration or being rolled to the next board for reconsideration. You will either be awarded a scholarship this time around, or you won't and will still be reconsidered in the future. Why worry over something you have absolutely no control over? Go enjoy getting prepared for the holidays and celebrate with your family. You'll receive news one way or the other soon enough. To, once again, borrow a line from "The Mandolorian".... "This is the way".

I agree with the above. However, one question I have is does everyone stay UC until after the 3rd board (unless they are awarded)? In other words, are people who are clearly not winners who are told now?

With last year’s boards, winners and non-winners were told the same day. If anything, I think the non-winners knew of the status AFTER the winners.

I don’t recall from last year’s post that anyone said they were a non-winner BEFORE someone said they were a winner.

The first board results was on a Friday and it was around early afternoon when notifications came out. People just started posting they or their DS/DD were winners.

Many, if not all, who are not awarded a scholarship will not hear until after the final board. I assume they inform people who are not qualified earlier but that's just surmise on my part. They have multiple boards to allow the pool of candidates to develop. usually there are few scholarships awarded by the first board to people that will obviously be awarded a scholarship even if they waited. Then more the second board and probably the most after the third board. Given the first and second boards are combined this year I'm not sure how they'll do it.

Where did you hear that they are combined? Because if you go to additional information and click on deadlines, they said the second board is Jan 13-17 & Only the first board was effected.

You may be right.... it might have only been a delay of the first board. I thought I saw a post from an ROO on these forums saying they were combined but that's probably just my feeble memory at work. In any case the broader point of how they generally do this is correct.

According to my son’s portal document due date for second board is Dec 30 and the second board meets mid January. He got all of his stuff done Dec 9th so will be considered by that board (his portal still says board ready).
