With the virus being a disqualifying mark for meps and no waivers being offered to survivors at the moment will contracting the virus bar contracted cadets from joining? Many of us work summer jobs or year round jobs that expose us to the virus and being at school is a huge factor if classes are in person for the fall. As someone who is already contracted I’m a medically qualified but will I be medically disqualified for a commission this year and have to pay back all four years for contracting a very easily spread virus?

Just to answer one question as I expect the standards on COVID-19 are evolving. Worse case, if they do not allow you to commission due to COVID-19, then you would not be obligated to pay back tuition. It's them terminating the contract, not you.

I doubt it will come to that but thats only my own surmise, based on no actual facts whatsoever.

As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for this topic, I'll state a functional interpretation of the correct DoD policy signed 10 Jun for DoDMERB and USMEPCOM.

1. Tests will NOT be requested.
2. Non-hospitalized COVID19 applicants may be qualified after 28 days from release of isolation, confirmed/documented by your physician.
3. Hospitalized applicants will require an individualized medical review by USMEPCOM and DoDMERB before a decision will be rendered. :wiggle:
