AROTC First Board

The first AROTC board is coming up next week. Of course, my status on my application will change from completed to boarded. I was wondering how long would it normally take for me to know that I am a winner or not? I am curious as im not sure how I would know after i am boarded if my application is still in review and they have not mad scholarship picks, or if they have moved me for selection during the second board? Thank you
 
If you don't hear anything you were moved to the next board for reconsideration. Usually it takes 2-3 weeks to notify folks who were awarded scholarships. Keep an eye here and you'll see this board light up when it happens.
 
There were many threads last year about the progression of the candidates through the 3 Boards. Take some time and read through them. If I remember correctly, results started coming out about a week or two after the Board convened, but that was last year...

My DS was awarded a 4YR on the 1st Board and was notified Dec 19. The 1st Board was pushed back a few months last year if I remember correctly. You are only Boarded 1 time for AROTC. Your package is scored and will be passed along to the 2nd Board if you are not selected.

It is not common but it does happen sometimes where the status can change from boarded, to boarded-under consideration, then back to boarded, etc. they may have a number of candidates being queued up for consideration in the first board who they put back to boarded/ look at in the next round. fyi this was the path for my DS who was then awarded a 4 year in the second board. Try not to read too much into those changes should they occur in an application you are tracking- it certainly isn't doom if you were under consideration but then push. I actually take it to be a positive if your package is strong enough to be under consideration in the first board at all. Good luck to all candidates.

Ok thank you. Just checked today and my status has been updated to boarded/under consideration.

My DD applied in fall 2018. I want to say AROTC gave 31 oct as the date winners will find out.
She found out on Friday the following week after the board met. It was much quicker than she expected.
 
My DS had a similar experience last year. He received notification about 1 week after the Board closed- but this year could be completely different. Good luck.

Thank you both for your responses. I will expect to be on the lookout next week, however I will not be surpirsed if they extend it into the following week as well considering everythign going on right now. Just curious, but did your children recieve any sort of certificate or anything of the sort in the mail? Thank you

Last year the portal was where he was notified that he had been selected. A few weeks later he received a very nice certificate in the mail
