Hello, I am currently a MS1 Cadet in Army ROTC with a 4 year scholarship. Is it possible to transfer over to NROTC, which is also offered at my school as a contracted cadet? I know they give you up to the beginning of your second year to decide if you wish to stick with the program or not in Army.

Don't get me wrong, I am extremely happy being a part of the Army ROTC program at my school, I just wondered if this is possible and if so how one would go about doing it.

I am sure you can switch, but you would not be a contracted Midshipmen. My guess is you would have to be a College Programmer and compete for Advanced Standing in order to remain in the program. I think you would need to talk the Navy Officer in charge of NROTC to get an accurate picture of the reality of picking up Advanced Standing or a in school scholarship.

Agree with NavyHoops. I think you would also have to double up on the Naval Science courses for a year to catch back up on the Navy side.
