This morning my youngest who is a HS senior (not applying to an SA - wants to be a Nurse practitioner)
came down decked out in red white and blue.

She is a typical self-centered teenager - so I was slightly aghast!
I told her that her AP US History teacher would be impressed and of course quizzed her as to the date.
She not only knew it was Pearl Harbor Day but seems the seniors declared it red, white and blue day.
Not bad for a rural/suburban non-military community.
 
Besides the USS Arizona, nothing else can bring Dec 7th more into focus than taking a look at hanger 1 on MCB Kaneohe where you can still see the pockmarks from the Japanese bullets during strafing runs on the Navy sea plane base.
